UKHealthCare Pharmacy Services to offer PGY2 Residency in Medication Use Safety
Beginning July 1, 2012, UK HealthCare Pharmacy Services will add to its long list of pharmacy residency offerings with a PGY2 residency in Medication Use Policy. Dr. Kimberley Hite will serve as the founding director of this program, and Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud has accepted an offer to become the first resident in the program. A list of Goals and Objectives for all residencies, including the PGY2 residency in Medication Use Policy, can be found at ASHP's accreditation page.

Clinic pharmacy extended hours
Effective Jan. 17th, the Kentucky Clinic pharmacy will extend weekday and weekend hours. These new hours will widen service access for patients and employees for filling prescriptions and/or speaking with the pharmacy staff.  This is a major service enhancement. Please encourage use of these facilities. New weekday hours are Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. Weekends:  Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.

Cardiology and Emergency Medicine residency programs receive preliminary accreditation
In addition to surveying existing accredited pharmacy residency programs while visiting UK HealthCare, ASHP representatives performed an initial evaluation of our two newest programs—Cardiology and Emergency Medicine. It is our pleasure to announce that these programs not only received an excellent post-survey report, but have been given “Preliminary Accreditation” status by ASHP. Congratulations to Drs. Tracy Macaulay, Stephanie Baker, and all of the residents, preceptors, and staff for this accomplishment.
